In 2013, the Tahe Chair in Assisted Reproduction of the University of Murcia was established by the Tahe Fertilidad Clinic to promote, disseminate, debate, train and facilitate research in the field of biology and reproductive medicine in the Region of Murcia.
Among its initiatives is the program for the preservation of the fertility of oncological patients. This program was launched in 2016 together with the Reproduction Unit of the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital and the anesthesiologists group of ANESMUR, and thanks to it numerous women from the Region of Murcia, have been able to vitrify their oocytes for free before undergoing chemo or radiotherapy treatments which could destroy their ovarian tissue. Thus, patients can undergo an assisted reproduction treatment without the need of a donor once they have overcome their illness if needed.
Throughout the year, the Tahe Chair organizes different activities. More information.
