Emilio Gómez Sánchez is a biologist specialising in embryology, and is our assisted reproduction laboratory director.

He began his work in this field in 1989, as a member of the embryology team at the first centre in Spain to specialise exclusively in human reproduction.

In 1993 he graduated cum laude at the School of Biology at the University of Valencia, and then went on to complete postgraduate studies at the Centre for Reproductive Biology in Edinburgh and the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.

From 1996 until mid 2007 he undertook the position of managing and directing the in vitro fertilisation laboratory at Murcia’s first centre dedicated exclusively to assisted reproduction. He has published and presented more than 100 projects related to clinical embryology at national and international conventions, and has trained numerous embryologists who have gone on to develop their work in Spain and other countries.

In 2006 he became an associate professor at the University of Murcia.

In 2008 he was awarded the title of Clinical Embryologist for his work by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
